APIC EPI Infection Prevention Training Offered in August and October

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) is offering new APIC EPI courses in August and October 2011.

APIC lists the following reasons for attending the conferences:

  • Learn what you need to know and build a solid foundation to be more effective in your job
  • Better understand the importance of meeting the Joint Commission’s requirements
  • Learn about the increased state and federal regulations impacting infection prevention and control in healthcare settings
  • Network with other infection preventionists from around the country and share best practices
  • Gain access to valuable information to improve your infection prevention program

The following APIC EPI Course Dates and Locations have been announced:

August 1-4, price 2011.  APIC EPI 101:  The Fundamentals of Infection Surveillance, case Prevention and Control.  Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, San Fransico, CA. “This basic course helps prepare those new to Infection Prevention and Control. Group work allows participants to start to define the goals for the infection prevention program and write the program plan.”

August 1-4, 2011.  APIC EPI 201:  Beyond the Fundamentals, Advancing Practice Using Epidemiologic Principles.  Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, San Francisco, CA.  “This intermediate level is designed for those who have worked in infection prevention and control for 6 to 18 months, as well as for those who are ready to move to the next level of critical thinking to improve upon the practice and outcomes of an infection prevention and control program.”

October 24-27, 2011.  APIC EPI 201:  Beyond the Fundamentals, Advancing Practice Using Epidemiologic Principles.  Marriot Biscayne Bay, Miami, FL.
