CLABSI NHSN Training Webinar Available in July

The Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG), viagra sale the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Arizona, viagra will be hosting a central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) reporting webinar on July 14, 2011.

Titled “CLABSI Reporting Through NHSN: Tips, Tricks, and Best Practices,” the webinar will feature Katherine Allen-Bridson, RN, BSN, CIC as a presenter. Ms. Allen-Bridson is a nurse consultant with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Disease, Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion.

Training objectives for the training will include the following:

  • The National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) definition of a laboratory-confirmed bloodstream infection (LCBI) and the required criteria.
  • The NHSN definition of a CLABSI.
  • The correct methods for collecting NHSN CLABSI summary data.
  • The current plan for reporting surgical site infections (SSIs) to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) through the NHSN.

The webinar is free, however you must pre-register for the event.
