Consumers Union To Hold Rally At California Court Hearing

Consumers Union’s Safe Patient Project, along with California hospital activists for patient safety, will be holding a patient safety rally outside the San Francisco Superior Court Building on Wednesday, June 22 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The court hearing pertains to a lawsuit brought by the California Hospital Association to block newly mandated California surgical site infection (SSI) reporting requirements.

According to the Safe Patient Project, the purpose of the rally is “to show visibility of hospital infection survivors and family member.” Individuals participating are encouraged “to wear all black to honor those who have been harmed or died because of hospital infections.”
