May 31, 2011

The Patient Safety and Quality Committee of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii (HAH) “is dedicated to formulate and implement strategies for Hawaii member organizations to collaborate in providing quality healthcare that is safe for the citizens of Hawaii.” Collaborating HAH members include those in acute care, home care, long-term care, and hospice facilities.

According to the HAH, these community stakeholders are participating in National initiatives to stop healthcare-associated infections (HAI), increase the use of patient safety initiatives, and educate and advocate for communication with state legislatures about the challenges and opportunities to improve healthcare.

HAH supports and encourages its members to participate in the following initiatives:

  • On the CUSP: Stop BSI
  • Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes
  • CMS (Value Based Purchasing)
  • Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
