Healthy People Webinar to Focus on Healthcare-Associated Infections

HealthyPeople.gov will be highlighting healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in its first webinar of its Healthy People webinar series.

The session will give an overview of the U.S. Department of health and Human Services (HHS) healthcare-associated infections prevention initiative.  It will also summarize the related Healthy People 2020 objectives, cialis and “provide action steps that health professionals can take to prevent HAIs.”

The webinar is scheduled for August 16, 2011, at 12 noon to 1:30 pm EDT.

Panelists for the event include Carter Blakey, Don Wright, Rani Jeeva, John A Jernigan, James B. Battles, Wendy Berg, and Christine McMullan.

As provided in the event information, the following meeting objectives will be covered in the session:

  • “Raise awareness of the burden of healthcare-associated infections”
  • “Provide an opportunity for leaders in the field of healthcare-associated infections to discuss policies and strategies to prevent central-line associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection”
  • “Provide examples of outstanding leadership in CLABSI prevention”
  • “Stimulate further action to reduce healthcare-associated infections in healthcare facilities, public health organizations, and local communities nationwide”
