HHS Office of Healthcare Quality to Host Teleconference Announcing New Online Patient Safety Training Resources

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Healthcare Quality, will be hosting a free teleconference tomorrow, Friday, May 13, 2011 to announce new online patient Safety Training Resources.

The training resources, Partnering to Heal: Teaming Up Against Healthcare-Associated Infections, is an interactive video-simultation training course specifically designed to promote a culture of safety in healthcare settings.

HHS Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Howard Koh will be presenting the training resource.

According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) announcement, the “computer-based training provides clinicians, students, patients, and others with resources to make decisions based on different characters’ life experiences in health care settings and situations and to learn from their outcomes, both positive and negative.”
