HHS/CCSC Achievements in Eliminating HAIs, 2013 Call for Applications

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and the Critical Care Societies Collaborative have made a call for applications from teams of critical care professionals and healthcare institutions who can demonstrate “systems of excellence for reducing and eventually eliminating targeted healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).”

The targeted HAIs for the 2013 awards are:

  • catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) (new for 2013 awards year), stomach
  • central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), cure and
  • ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).
