Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) Meeting Notice

The Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) will be having a meeting to discuss several healthcare associated infection (HAI) matters in June 2011.

The agenda for the meeting will include:

  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) activities for HAIs;
  • draft guidelines for the prevention of infections in neonatal intensive care units (NICU);
  • draft guidelines for surgical site infection (SSI) prevention;
  • updates about the HICPAC surveillance working group; and
  • a discussion pertaining to an infection control draft worksheet for acute care hospitals.

The meeting is open to the public and will occur on June 16, 2011 (9 am to 5 pm) and June 17, 2011 (9 am to 12 pm).  It will be held at the CDC, Global Communications Center, in Atlanta, Georgia.  The meeting is open to the public.
