IHI, CDC, and Avaris Concepts Partner to Provide HAI Webinar

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Avaris Concepts, LLC have partnered together to provide an upcoming webinar about healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and healthcare leadership.

The webinar, titled “Hospital Acquired Infection System Changes Affecting Healthcare Facility Safety,” will be held September 22, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm EST.  There is no charge for attendance. The CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP) is covering the cost of the event.

The webinar aims to promote “the development and adoption of strategies and tools to promote engagement in initiatives to prevent healthcare-associated infections.”

According to the announcement, the following topics will be discussed:

  1. The importance of implementing HAI prevention efforts.
  2. The importance of developing and implementing a multi-faceted approach to HAI elimination that addresses both infection control and antimicrobial stewardship.
  3. The importance of ensuring proper support for HAI prevention efforts.
  4. The importance of working with public health officials on HAI prevention efforts.
  5. Specific ways in which HAI prevention efforts can be implemented and supported.
  6. Outreach efforts in eliminating healthcare-associated infections.
  7. Implementing systemic changes that would positively impact healthcare facility safety.
