New York Issues Third Annual Hospital-Acquired Infection Report

September 1, 2010

The New York Department of Health has issued the state’s Third Annual Report on Hospital Acquired Infections.

The report, dated September 1, 2010, notes reduced rates for central-line blood stream infections (CLABSIs) and two types of surgical site infections–colon surgery and cardiac by-pass surgery.  The report is based on 2009 data.  It presents rates for these selected hospital-acquired infections by hospital facility name and specific geographic region.

Both the press release and report are available on the New York State Department of Health Website.
