Oregon — Hospital Comments on HAI Reports

June 7, 2010

Some state healthcare-associated infections (HAI) programs will allow hospitals to provide comments on publicly released HAI reports presenting HAI statistical data.  For example, under Alabama law, healthcare facilities that have submitted data are allowed to review and comment on reports prior to publication or release to the general public; the comments may be included in the final report if the healthcare facility desires such.

Oregon is another state that allows hospital comments on its HAI reports.  The Oregon Health Policy and Research agency has posted hospital comments on its state website in response to recently submitted HAI hospital reports.

Hospitals submitting comments include:

* Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center

* McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center

* Mid-Columbia Medical Center

* Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Hospital

* Peace Harbor Hospital

* Providence Medford Medical Center

* Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend

* Sky Lakes Medical Center

The comments are available on the agency’s website at: http://www.oregon.gov/OHPPR/HAI_2009ReportComments.shtml.
