Project Analyzes State Laws on Mandatory Healthcare Workforce Influenza Vaccinations

A new project analyzing state laws requiring mandatory influenza vaccinations of healthcare workers has been reported by the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services.

The project provides:

  1. a comprehensive review of research related to influenza vaccination of healthcare workers, try
  2. an analysis of state laws requiring health facilities to develop mandatory workforce influenza vaccination programs, viagra
  3. a model law for states to use as a guide for updating existing policies or enacting new laws, and
  4. an interactive map showing an analysis of research findings for each state.
“Our findings show that state policymakers are prepared to enact compulsory measures to reduce hospital-acquired infections. Increasing influenza vaccination among the health workforce is a vital component of a comprehensive infection control program,” noted lead author, Alexandra M. Stewart, JD, Assistant Professor of Health Policy.

Funding for the research was provided by AHRQ, CDC, NVPO, and OHQ on behalf of the Federal Increasing Influenza Vaccination Coverage Among Healthcare Workers Working Group.
