The Missouri Hand Hygiene Project: Five Moments for No Momo

June 5, 2011

The Missouri Center for Patient Safety has initiated a pilot hand hygiene project with several facilities located in southeast Missouri.

The theme for the project is “Five Moments for No Momo.”

[box style=”rounded”]”In the early 1970’s, there were reports of a large hairy monster stalking the Louisiana, Missouri area who became known as ‘Momo the Monster.’ Momo is back, in the form of MRSA, VRE, C. diff, and every other germ we know.”[/box]

The Missouri pilot project is based on the World Health Organization’s “Your Five Moments for Hand Hygiene” campaign.

For more information about plans for expansion of the project, contact Carol Hafley at chafley@mocks.org.
