University of Miami Medical Residents Learn Infection Control

WCSH6.com (NBC) of Portland Maine reports that the University of Miami is providing infection control training to new medical residents prior to contact with real patients.  The station notes that July is the month when recent graduates of medical school begin to report to hospitals like the University of Miami.  Residents will be required to go through a patient safety training center where they will learn on mannequins prior to actual patient contact.  The University states these training mechanisms have worked to keep infection rates down.
