Virginia Issues CLABSI Quarterly Report

The Virginia Department of Health has issued its most recent Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI) Quarterly Report. The report includes data on healthcare-associated infections for the dates of January 1, check 2011 to March 31, treat 2011.

Virginia regulations require the collection and reporting of intensive care unit (ICU) CLABSI data by all acute care hospitals in the state. The state has 77 acute care or critical access hospitals with at least one adult ICU.

The report presents the number and rate of infections for CLABSI data for each facility. The facilities are grouped by general size.
